Summer is coming...

Well summer is coming and lots of fun things to do. I'm happy that CitP is back at the park. And I hope I'll have more opportunities to hang out with old friends and get to know new friends better.

I'm also thinking a early summer road trip would be nice before my September road trip to pick up my dog (I'll get to that in a minute). I may have to read "Eat, Love, Pray" again to inspire me.

In September, I'm taking a road trip to Indianapolis to pick up my new dog. I'm getting a 3 year old Giant Schnauzer named Paris. I think the name could use some work but I guess I'll have to see what she answers to! Giants look like the mini Schnauzers except they are jet black and the females are about 10x bigger. The males are even bigger than that! Paris is the blood sister of my parents new dog Magic. I am very very picky about dog breeds and there are few that I truly love but the giant schnauzers are really great dogs. So I'm counting down to September when I get to bring her home! Here's a picture the breeder sent me of her.
Isn't she pretty!

You can also see how big some of the dogs are here... http://fantacgiantschnauzers.com/index.php

The Deaf, Blind, Lame & Competent

When Mom wanted to go on a "Girls trip" to San Francisco I went of course. Who am I to turn down a mostly paid for vaca? Then she invited my Aunt Kathy who had never been and then a family friend. Needless to say our girls trip doubled. The whole trip was fun because our companions had never been to the city before. It was fun to see them see things for the first time and made me remember visiting San Francisco when I was younger. We went all over the place: Fisherman's Wharf, China Town, Union Square, Golden Gate Bridge and went to the Orpheum Theater to see Wicked (probably my favorite part!).

By day one my mom had dubbed nicknames for everyone and I had started calling them the gimpy crew. Mom is deaf, Mary is blind, Aunt Kathy had a hurt hip and I was the competent one aka the gimpy crew. Here's some pictures from the trip. Enjoy!

Finally jumping on the blogging bandwagon....

So I'm jumping on the bandwagon of blogging/online journaling. I hope this turns out to be a good way to let friends know what's going on with me, especially friends I don't get to see often! So here go nothing...

I moved back to Huntsville back in the fall after I got laid off. Really it was a blessing in disguise (though it didn't seem like it at the time). As much as I love NOLA, I hate hurricane season just as much. And I am very happy that I'm not preparing for hurricane season!

When I moved back I found a job as a Marketing/PR specialist working with a company that provides programs for troubled teens. Every day is a new day to say the least, and while there's a lot of drama it's great to see how far the kids have come when they graduate from the program.

So far I'm enjoying being back in Huntsville, meeting up with old friends and making new ones. I'm happy that the young singles social life has improved in Huntsville or I might not be such a happy camper. I'm looking forward to having more fun and good times! I'll post soon about my recent vaca to San Francisco.
